Realism Digital Painting from imagination: Colors

I'm switching to colors, so to experiment i tried a few things on the last painting i did in black and white:

i wish i did this in colors right away, i ended up changing all the values because i don't like the color mode to add colors to black and white, it's too "dull" and washed away, and the control on colors is much more difficult..

Oh well, from now on i'll start my paintings in colors right away, so there shouldn't be any problem like this anymore.


I'm kinda satisfied with the result, but it looks like a mix between 3D and photorealistic, not sure whether or not i like this kind of result.. i'm after realism/photorealism, i don't want my paintings to look 3D, although of course it's great that i can get results that don't look like a painting.

Ill keep practicing and experimenting to see if i can find something better
