So this is your OC, eh? He's certainly got it made in the looks department, and for a first attempt at anime, it's pretty darn good. The facial features are rather hawkish, and the hair is nice and sleek, as are the arms, and I can tell he has some muscles going for him. Oh, and the nose and eyes? They are simply beautiful and piercing, the sort that stares right into your soul and keeps your attention riveted on the face, never allowing you to look away. Interesting; very interesting indeed. Not too bad on the background, either. You don't need a fancy background to make a pic work for you. Well done indeed.
If I may offer some constructive criticism, Dex looks a little bit too much like Riku from Kingdom Hearts. You may want to take a look at that series if you aren't familiar with it to see what I mean (there actually are people who aren't familiar with KH, believe it or not). Also (no offense), I understand if you've lived with this OC for so long, but the name Dex makes me think of the character from the Mega Man Battlenetwork series. Don't get me wrong, I love that series, but I don't like to associate a character with another character when I look at one.
Sadly, despite my enjoyment of this character, I can't add him to my list (that is to say I can't add him to my favorites). It's not that I dislike him, mind you-he is an interesting character, as I read his background story as well-but the name just doesn't click with me, and again, he reminds me too much of Riku. If the name were different and he looked a little more unique, I might, but alas... Still, I must give you props for taking him this far and working on a game for him! Congratulations on that! I could never do that. I'm so computer illiterate it almost hurts!
Well done. Keep building this character and make that game! You rock.
You critiqued an outdated versione of Dex though, feel free to give a look to the new one and comment on it if you feel like doing it
(He clearly has a different hairstyle than riku, who has longer hair and they are pretty much towards the violet/blue rather than pure white)
Also, his name can't be changed, because it has a particoular meaning.
If you write only Dex here on the search bar, my character comes up, and that's good enough for me.
Also, i can't listen to everyone who asks me to change the name.. i of course accept your critique, but its too personal, i can't change the name just because of that.
It's nearly impossible to come up with something which hasn't been invented yet, so thank you for your suggestion but i'm fine with his name^^
I'm trying my best to design Dex as a unique and appealing character, he is still evolving but i like what i'm getting so far.. feel free to follow his development, because there's still a lot to do, design-wise!
